Dental crowns
in Elland

If you have a tooth that has become weakened by severe decay or trauma, we can restore and strengthen it with a dental crown. These are bespoke, colour-matched caps that cover the entire visible part of a tooth. The crown’s structural durability reinforces the tooth to allow it to function normally, while the natural-looking design improves its aesthetic appearance.

What are the benefits of dental crowns?

  • Protects the tooth and prevents possible tooth loss
  • Restores the appearance of the tooth
  • Improves chewing and eating functions
  • Can strengthen teeth after root canal treatment
  • Can be fitted on top of a dental implant for a complete tooth replacement solution

Beautiful restorations

As well as looking great, dental crowns are a very strong and durable solution. They are an extremely effective way of protecting vulnerable teeth, though they can also be used in conjunction with a dental implant (via an abutment) to replace a missing tooth.

The dental crown procedure

A dental crown is precisely crafted for a comfortable fit and aesthetic match. When fitted on top of an existing tooth, the first step is to remove a thin layer of the natural enamel. An impression is then taken of the tooth which will enable to the crown to be accurately shaped.

While it is being created at the laboratory, a temporary version will be placed to prevent damage to the tooth. When it is ready, the new crown will be checked for fit before it is cemented into place.
